- Who can register, and what do I need to list a profile?
- Any contractor or service provider registered as a business in India (company, LLP, partnership or proprietorship) can register. You need the entity's registration identifiers, an authorised signatory, your licences and certificates with expiry dates, a short description of manpower and equipment, and at least one project reference with a client who may be contacted. The profile can be saved as a draft and submitted when complete.
- What do the verification labels mean?
- Self-declared means the contractor entered the information and nothing has been checked. Documents checked means the stated documents were reviewed on the stated date. Reference checked means at least one project reference was confirmed with the client. BARREL reviewed means the profile was reviewed for completeness together with the checks listed in its verification record. Each label shows what was checked and when; none of them is a guarantee of performance.
- What does listing cost?
- A basic profile is included in the organisation registration. Prequalification, reference validation and empanelment support are priced per plan; see Plans. Buyers who request a prequalification report pay per report under their plan.
- Who sees my references, turnover and contact details?
- Public visitors see your name, work categories, voltage classes, capacity bands, operating states and labels. Registered buyers also see turnover band, manpower, equipment and reference summaries. Client names and contact details are released only with your permission, and a buyer requesting a full prequalification report accepts confidentiality terms before it is shared.
- What does BARREL do, and what does it not do?
- BARREL records your declarations, checks the documents and references you authorise, dates every check and shows the result as a label. BARREL does not certify a capability it has not checked, does not award contracts or rank contractors by price, and does not guarantee that any contractor will perform. The buyer remains responsible for its own prequalification decision.
